How do you know if he is really in love with you?  Has he told you so and you’re not sure if he meant it? Have you been hurt in a past relationship and now you’re wondering if he’s the one? Asking yourself the following three questions will help put your concerns to rest.

#1 Does he make it about you?

Even if he spends day and night with you, that does not necessarily mean he loves you.  You might just be the “right now” girl instead of the right one for him. Pay attention to whether or not he only talks about himself.  Make sure that work problems are not all he talks about. Assess the value of your conversations together.  If he only talks about himself, you may want to reconsider him as a part of your life.

#2 Can he handle your needs?

His ability to handle the stresses in dating reflects on his ability to handle marriage and have children.  Put him to the test. Watch how attentively he listens as you vent about your frustrating day.  If he’s too busy watching football to get up and clean the apartment, then you probably want to treat yourself to a better man, one who is willing to turn off the TV to make you happy.

#3 Can he commit?

If he takes you to the movies on Monday, and his secretary to dinner on Tuesday, he probably doesn’t love you.  Exclusive dating is a sign that he is ready for a serious relationship. If you’ve stayed over at his place and given him the goods, and he still seems distant and goes out with other women, then you are in a relationship that will do nothing but hurt you in the end.  Get out now.

Asking yourself these three questions will help you know if he really loves you.  If he fails to meet your expectations, there are always other fish in the sea.
