Got your eye on a guy? Worried that things won’t go anywhere near love unless you take some positive steps to draw him closer to you? Wondering what you can do to get him to feel the power of love? The truth is that guys are very aware of the women around them, especially those who seem to be showing some interest. But you need to add something special to the mix to stir the deepest emotions in the guy you desire.
First, hold back the body. Sure, everyone wants physical contact, and it’s easy to throw yourself at a guy. But it’s a mistake to lead with your body because sexual excitement can blot out awareness of the emotional qualities that make for a truly meaningful relationship. At the start, no touching! At all. As much as you want to put your hands on his shoulder, or bump against his side, or give him a playful tap on the back, don’t do it. That starts the relationship down the wrong path.
Second, lead with your personality. You are a wonderful mixture of feelings, thoughts, ideas and interests. In the long run, these are the things that will make him bond with you. So you have to reveal them to see which ones he responds to best. Find opportunities to share your likes and dislikes. Do you love animals? Work that into the conversation? Did you recently read a book that taught you something interesting, made you laugh or made you cry? Bring that up – signaling that you like to read and that you respond to new ideas. Did you recently try out a new restaurant or go on a trip? Again, mentioning these things shows him all the ways he might enjoy your company. The trick is to find ways to weave these little tid-bits into the conversation naturally. It isn’t necessarily important that the comments be directed to him, all that matters is that he hears them. So if you’re in a group and he happens to be present, you might get talking to someone else about your ideas or experiences. Just as long as he gets the message.
Third, make him show his personality. Just as you have things to share with him, he has things to share with you. But sometimes guys are reluctant to open up. He might not volunteer his thoughts and feelings, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have them or doesn’t want to share them. Ask questions, probe for connections. If you just saw a great movie, ask him if he’s seen it. If you’re boss at work did something annoying, ask him if that’s ever happened to him. Go slow, but draw him our and show that you are both interested and willing to listen. He’ll appreciate that and those little details become the foundation of real attraction and, ultimately, real love.
