I think a lot of it is about Asian culture. I mean, we are raised to be polite and friendly. We value getting along and non-confrontation above standing out and getting what is ours. Your average caucassian guy is rude by Asian standards, but he isn’t afraid of putting it out there and doing something crazy to get the attention of a girl. We on the other hand are raised to conform, to not stand out in a crowd, if we did, we could be sure of being punished as children. Is it any wonder, most Asian guys act the way they do?
I think there is a lot to be proud of in Asian culture, but I also think the average Asian guy is to rigid and stone faced in social settings. It’s a product of social conditioning and also stereotypes and neither help in getting the girl.
White girls may see a guy like that as being cold, distant and aloof. Someone who may seem interesting but who doesn’t open up, who isn’t willing to share himself and take a chance. Even worse, they may think – ‘creep’ or ‘weirdo’ – and stay away and that stings. It’s a bad place to be.
I have spent a lot of time really thinking why this problem only affects Asian guys. Why is it so hard for Asian men to date white women or any women of other race?
It’s not the end of the world, it isn’t the final truth. Being Asian is far from a handicap, it’s just cultural background, a history, something to be proud of.
